Welcome to the Fair and Balanced Regulations website of the Private Capital Market Association of Canada (“PCMA”). As a membership organization, PCMA is interested in advocating for regulations that are fair and balanced to investors, issuers and exempt market dealers.
This Privacy Policy Statement is made by the PCMA under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). It notifies the public and members of the PCMA what personal data is collected and why, how it will be used, retention period, security measures, and how access requests are addressed.
“Personal data” means any personally identifying information as more particularly defined in the PIPEDA.

The PCMA collects and retains contact information (such as name, title, firm, mailing and email addresses, phone and fax numbers), billing details for training, events and conferences, and information about specific markets, areas, and types of information relevant to members. Submission by you: Information is collected when filling out online forms, surveys, registering/paying for training, conferences, or webinars, or responding to emails, providing business cards, writing, or providing oral information.
Submitting personal information is not required to use the website, except for password-protected areas.
Anonymous access and Cookies: Visits are recorded by IP address and Cookies when the website is used without submitting personal data online.
What It’s Used For
- Data from Order, Registration, and Contact Forms: Addresses are retained for easier re-registration and reordering. Other information facilitates communication, billing, and shipping.
- Password Requests: Information provided is only used to generate and communicate a password.
- Web Page Subscriptions: Email addresses are only used to send updates when pages are modified.
- IP Address and Cookie Data: This information produces aggregated data on visitors and ensures delivery of desired information.
- Provided information may help identify member or non-member users.
- With consent or entitlement, business contacts may be shared with third-party vendors sponsoring PCMA conferences. Payment details may be provided to third-party services like payment processors to process orders.

Material is kept confidential and protected from unauthorized or accidental access or processing through appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial means. Web servers are protected behind firewalls and systems are monitored for unauthorized access.

To be removed from the PCMA database or update inaccurate information, please contact the PCMA.
Users can update information, opt out of mailings, or be removed from the list by contacting the PCMA.
